Assassin's Creed Unveils Surprising AoT Collaboration for Holiday Season
In a surprising partnership that challenges traditional forecasts, the game developer has unveiled an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.
Strange Questline Revealed
According to the formal announcement, "A mysterious meeting draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where whispers of banned ceremonies and terrifying metamorphoses reverberate through the darkness." The narrative introduces a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a hidden sect.
The adventure concentrates on "peculiar trials and a fearsome enemy" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Transformations
The teaser highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser concludes with a striking sequence showing a character, probably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Additional Content
Players who successfully complete the mission will acquire an exclusive katana together with numerous artifacts concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Exclusive arms
- Survey Corps mount
Newest Free Story Update
This release also adds the game's third complimentary story addition, titled "The Enigma." This playful mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive skills: Naoe debuts a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Enigma" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may finally clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This represents hardly the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with famous anime series. The series formerly featured a 2020 cross-promotional story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Furthermore, Valhalla unofficially featured a quest that clearly referenced the famous series One-Punch Man.
